Lutronic Ultra™
Resurfacing Without the Recovery
Ultra is a gentle fractional laser treatment designed to improve sun damage, uneven tone, texture and fine lines with minimal downtime.
Using a 1927 nm thulium wavelength, Ultra works within the upper layers of the skin to target visible discoloration and refresh the skin's surface while supporting a smoother, brighter appearance.
At Swãe, Ultra can be customized for the face, neck, chest and hands and is often performed as a series of treatments for gradual, natural-looking improvement.
Best for: Sun Damage | Brown Spots | Uneven Tone | Fine Lines | Texture | Skin Brightening

What a Lutronic Ultra™ Treatment Looks Like
A full-face session takes 15 to 20 minutes after numbing. Most people describe the sensation as warm prickling that builds slightly as the treatment goes on.
Your provider examines your skin, confirms your treatment goals and sets the energy level and density for your skin type. Numbing cream is applied for about 30 minutes.
Once the numbing is removed and your skin is cleansed, protective eyewear goes on and the handpiece is passed over the treatment area in overlapping sections.
Your provider adjusts the settings for different zones, using a lighter touch on thin skin around the eyes and neck, and completes several passes to reach the planned coverage.
A soothing balm and sunscreen are applied. Your skin will feel warm and look pink, similar to a sunburn, for a day or two, followed by light flaking as the treated pigment lifts away.

Targeting Water to Refresh the Surface
The 1927 nm wavelength is strongly absorbed by water, and the upper layers of skin are mostly water. When the laser fires, it creates thousands of microscopic columns of controlled heat injury in the epidermis and upper dermis while leaving the skin between them intact. Those intact bridges speed healing and are why downtime is short.
As the skin repairs, it pushes out damaged cells and pigment, which is why brown spots darken briefly and then flake away. Underneath, the heat prompts new collagen production, so texture and fine lines improve over the following weeks. Because Ultra™ doesn't rely on melanin as its target, it avoids the risk of unwanted pigmentation that some lasers pose for medium and darker skin, and it can be tuned from a very gentle refresh to a more corrective treatment depending on what your skin needs.
Why We Chose Lutronic Ultra™
We wanted a resurfacing laser that patients would actually come back for. Ultra™ delivers meaningful change without asking people to hide for a week
Expect a day or two of pinkness and some light flaking, then brighter, clearer skin. Most patients treat on a Friday and are back to normal by Monday.
The wavelength targets water rather than pigment, so it can be used confidently on skin types that other resurfacing lasers can't treat safely.
The same device handles sun spots, melasma, fine lines, texture and dullness, on the face, neck, chest and hands, with settings tuned to each concern.
More Technology at Swãe
Each device at Swãe was selected for a specific job, and most patients end up using more than one over time. Browse the rest of our technology below, or book a consultation and we'll tell you which combination suits your concerns.

XERF™
XERF™ is a non-surgical skin tightening device that delivers radiofrequency energy at two frequencies, reaching both the mid-layer of the skin and the deeper structural tissue beneath it. It firms, lifts and smooths the face, jawline and neck in one to three sessions.

Clarity II™
Clarity II™ combines two laser wavelengths in one system, which lets it treat unwanted hair, visible veins, pigmentation and skin laxity safely on every skin tone. It's one of the most versatile devices at Swãe.

SkinPen®
SkinPen® is an FDA-cleared microneedling device that creates thousands of controlled micro-channels in the skin to trigger collagen production. It treats acne scars, rough texture, fine lines and enlarged pores, and it's safe for every skin tone.
