Texture, Scarring and Pores
Smoothing Skin From the Layers Beneath
Uneven texture, scarring and visible pores share a cause. When the skin's structure is disrupted, whether by acne, sun damage, slowed cell turnover or lost collagen, the surface stops sitting smoothly. Acne scars are pits where collagen never fully rebuilt. Pores look larger when the skin around them loses firmness and oil and debris stretch them. Rough, dull texture comes from dead cells building up and the underlying layers thinning.
Home products only reach the top layer, which is why they rarely fix these problems. In-clinic treatments go deeper. Microneedling and resurfacing create controlled injury that prompts the skin to rebuild collagen and replace damaged surface with smoother tissue. Over a series of sessions, scars soften, pores tighten and texture evens out. At Swãe, we match the depth of treatment to your skin type and tone, since darker skin needs a gentler approach to avoid pigmentation.

Services That Treat Texture, Scarring and Pores
The treatments below rebuild skin from within to smooth texture, soften scars and refine pores. They're typically done as a series, and your provider will recommend the right intensity for your skin. Each service page explains how the treatment works, what recovery looks like and how many sessions to expect.

Microneedling
Microneedling creates thousands of tiny controlled punctures in the skin, which triggers your body to produce new collagen. Over a series of sessions, texture smooths, scars soften and pores look smaller.

Skin Resurfacing
Skin resurfacing removes damaged outer layers of skin and stimulates new growth underneath. It's one of the most effective treatments for sun damage, deeper lines, acne scarring and rough texture, with results that last for years.
Any Questions?
Can acne scars be removed?
They can be significantly softened, often to the point where they're hard to see, but deep scars are rarely erased completely. Several sessions give the best result.
Which is better for scarring, microneedling or resurfacing?
Both work well. Microneedling is safer for darker skin and has less downtime, while resurfacing delivers more change per session for lighter skin tones.
Can pores actually get smaller?
Pore size is genetic, but pores look smaller when the skin around them is firmer and clear of oil and debris. Treatment achieves both.
How many sessions will I need?
Texture and pores usually improve within three to four sessions. Scarring often needs four to six, spaced a month or more apart.
Is there downtime?
Microneedling involves a day or two of pinkness. Resurfacing involves several days of redness and peeling depending on depth.
Will results last?
Yes. New collagen is your own tissue, and results hold for years with sun protection and good skin care.
