Visible Veins
Why Veins Show and How They're Cleared
Visible veins are small vessels close to the skin's surface that have weakened or dilated. On the legs, this comes from years of pressure: standing, sitting, pregnancy, weight changes and genetics all play a role, and the result is red, blue or purple spider veins on the thighs, calves and ankles. On the face, sun damage, rosacea and thin skin cause tiny capillaries to show around the nose, cheeks and chin.
These veins don't serve an important function, so closing them is safe. Laser treatment sends light energy that's absorbed by the blood inside the vein, heating and sealing it. Sclerotherapy injects a solution that irritates the vein wall so it collapses. In both cases, blood reroutes through healthier vessels and the body absorbs what remains over the following weeks. At Swãe, we'll assess your veins and choose the method that fits, and if we suspect a deeper circulation issue, we'll refer you for assessment first.

Services That Treat Visible Veins
The treatment below clears spider veins and facial capillaries using the method best suited to their size and location. Your provider will assess your veins and rule out any underlying issue before treatment. The service page explains how each method works, what to expect and how to care for the area afterward.

Vein Removal
Vein removal treats the small red, blue or purple veins that show through the skin on the legs and face. Using laser or injection-based treatment, the vein is closed off and gradually absorbed by the body, leaving clearer skin.
Any Questions?
What causes spider veins?
Pressure from standing, sitting, pregnancy and weight changes weakens surface veins over time, and genetics makes some people more prone to them.
Can facial veins be treated?
Yes. Laser treatment works well on capillaries around the nose, cheeks and chin, often clearing them in one to two sessions.
Does vein treatment hurt?
Laser feels like brief warm snaps, and sclerotherapy involves a small pinch and mild stinging. Neither usually needs numbing.
Will the veins come back?
Treated veins are permanently closed. New veins can form over time, so occasional maintenance may be needed.
How many sessions are needed?
Facial veins often clear in one to two sessions. Leg veins typically take two to four, spaced six to eight weeks apart.
Is there downtime?
You can return to normal activity the same day, though you'll wear compression stockings after leg treatment and avoid intense exercise for a few days.
