Unwanted Hair
A Lasting Alternative to Shaving and Waxing
Every method of removing hair at the surface has the same problem: the follicle underneath stays intact and grows the hair right back. Shaving leaves stubble within days and often causes razor bumps. Waxing lasts longer but pulls the hair out at an angle that leads to ingrowns. For people with coarse or dark hair, especially in a beach town where skin is on show most of the year, the cycle is constant.
Laser hair removal works on the follicle itself. Light energy is absorbed by the pigment in the hair and heats the follicle enough to stop it producing. Because only follicles in their active growth phase respond, it takes a series of sessions to catch them all, but by the end most people see a 70 to 90 percent permanent reduction. At Swãe, we use devices suited to a range of skin tones and adjust settings to your skin and hair so treatment is both safe and effective.

Services That Treat Unwanted Hair
The treatment below reduces hair long-term on the face, underarms, arms, chest, back, bikini line and legs. Your provider will assess your skin tone and hair type, confirm the right settings and plan your series. The service page explains how it works, how to prepare and how many sessions to expect.

Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal uses targeted light to disable hair follicles at the root, reducing growth permanently over a series of sessions. It's a long-term alternative to shaving, waxing and the irritation that comes with both.
Any Questions?
Is laser hair removal permanent?
Treated follicles stop producing hair, giving long-term reduction of 70 to 90 percent. Occasional touch-ups once or twice a year maintain results.
Does it work on all hair colors?
It works best on dark and medium-brown hair. Blonde, red, grey and white hair have too little pigment for the laser to target effectively.
Is it safe for darker skin?
Yes. We use devices with wavelengths suited to deeper skin tones and adjust settings to protect the skin.
How many sessions will I need?
Most people need six to eight sessions spaced four to eight weeks apart. Hormonal areas like the face may need more.
Does it hurt?
Each pulse feels like a quick snap followed by cooling. Sensitive areas like the bikini line feel more intense than the legs.
Can I shave between sessions?
Yes. Shaving is fine and encouraged, but avoid waxing, plucking or threading since they remove the root the laser needs to target.
